Data from the future

Almost 4 years ago

Waiting for @masorx answer… I think that the solution must be useful in real applications, so, it is better not using future data.

Questions to contest organizers about data meaning

Almost 4 years ago

I usually assume that it is a good estimator.
In my opinion, second-order effects (such as tropospheric effect) can be neglected in firsts implementations - but it depends on the leader board :slight_smile:

Yes, c is the speed of light.

Evaluation metric

Almost 4 years ago

I try to put some more details (always waiting confirmation by @masorx).
Using the definition of RMSE:

  1. compute the 2D distance between the true position and estimated position for each point, for example using the Haversine formula,
  2. Obtain a series of distances {d_i} where i=1…N;
  3. Compute sqrt(sum(d_i^2)/N);
  4. Last, there is a truncation: only the best estimations -the ones having the smaller distances- are used, i.e. dropping out the 10%.

Sensors Data clarification

Almost 4 years ago

Waiting for @masorx’s reply…
In my opinion yes but, you should remember that, probably, different folders refer to different epochs.
Between the epochs, in principle, the sensors parameters can be changed from their host.
Better refer to the files of the same folder to stay safe.
My best
